The following Poems were written, as an amusement, during the tedious and lonely hours when indisposition of body confined the writer to his home: consequently, without the most distant idea of publication. Some of his friends, however, who had read them with attention, considered them to possess sufficient merit to recommend themselves to the notice of the public: this, time will prove.
