Excerpt from Coast and Geodetic Survey Bulletin: June, 1915During the short season of three months, 21 uncharted submerged rocks constituting serious dangers to navigation were discovered, the existence of which had not before even been suspected. Recently a pinnacle rock, with 8 feet of water, has been struck by a vessel in the middle of Whale Passage, of which there was no indication on the published chart. A rock with 21 feet in Sumner Strait has just been reported.On the Atlantic coast N. H. Heck and J. H.
