The College of the Immaculate Conception, conducted by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus, was founded in December, 1847 5 and was endowed by the Legislature of Louisiana, March, 1856, with all the rights and privileges of a University.
The Course of Studies is two-fold: the Undergraduate or Classical and the Commercial, to which is added a Prepara tory Department for younger boys.
