This commentary discusses some of the considerations of the joint ACI-ASME Committee in developing the provisions of ACI Standard 359 and ASME 真真&P, 真真C Section III, 真真ivision 2, Subsection CC, Article CC-3000 in the 2013 version of the code. Emphasis is given to the explanation of provisions that may be unfamiliar to code users. Comments on specific provisions are made under the corresponding paragraph numbers of the code. The figures and appendices referred to in this commentary occur only in the commentary so that their numbering has no parallel in the code. 真真ecause the code is written and intended for use as a legal document, it does not present background details or suggestions for carrying out its requirements or intent.
