It provides detailed recommendations for interpreting the park's resources, including the Glen Haven area, and was reviewed during the development concept planning process.The General Management Plan also proposes that a new docking facility for public boat service to the Manitou Islands and launching ramps for private boats be constructed some where between Port Oneida and Empire. The site was to be selected through a suitability/ feasibility study, which began in 1981, and Glen Haven was one of several sites evaluated (nps 1984a).
