Excerpt from Drury, 1915Herbert hume gadsby ph.d., our principal, who has been with us so long, received his prepara tion for college in Gilbertsville Academy. In 1889. He entered Cornell, graduating in 1886. He then held positions in Oswego High School and Yonkers High, both in New York State. From 1895 to the present date he has given his best to Drury and it is to be hoped that he will be rewarded with the honor of being the principal of a new building.Mr. Mortimer W. Thomas, the vice-principal of Drury, came to the school in 1903. He is a W'illiams graduate, Class of 1887. Previous to his engagement at Drury he was principal of the Blackinton school. Mr. Thomas is the head of the History Department and has always made his subject interesting.Miss ella B. Spencer is a graduate of Holyoke High School and Smith College, 1899. She was then interested for a short time in settlement work in New York City. In 1901 she accepted the position of Germanand English teacher in Drury.
