Maladie d'amour' is a physiological condition referred to in a treatise by Jaques Ferrand as early as 1693 leading to an understanding of the modern term 'delusional romantic attachment' which is sometimes described as 'erotomania' These terms are often used to describe the person who is haunted throughout their life by a harrowing love for another who does not respond in a similar fashion. Edit Point is a carefully crafted story telling of such a relationship with its delights and tragedies detailing the secondment of an award winning television programme producer sent to investigate the history of a group of ancient monks who seemed to have taken more interest in early science than their religion. While carrying out his work he becomes involved in several interweaving relationships leading not only to meeting his future wife but also someone who he can never put out of his mind.
