Excerpt from Fourteenth Annual Report of the Boston Transit Commission, for the Year Ending June 30, 1908Chapter 520 of the Acts of 1906, which authorizes the Boston Transit Commission to construct the Boston connec tion for the Cambridge Main street subway, permits such connection to terminate either at Scollay square or at Park street subway station. The Commission has selected the latter terminal. The act contains the following clause in section 23: No additional structures shall be placed above the surface of the common, but in connection with the construction of the tunnel the com mission may enlarge, by not more than one third, the width of the existing entrances to and exits from the Park street subway station, and the cost thereof shall be deemed and treated as part of the cost of the tunnel.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
