The Committee compiled records of baptisms, marriages and deaths from five vol umes of Records of the Port Byron Methodist Episcopal Church.There is great variation in Spelling of names. In some cases the spelling of the name of a child will be different from that of the parents, e. G. Clarence Stephens, (son of) Emma and F. H. Stevens There are also blank places in the Record Books. There fore, the information concerning some persons is less complete than others.Location of schools and churches identified on the map, page 4, were obtained from records in the office of the Recorder of Deeds, Rock Island, Illinois.The Congregational material includes Clerk's Minutes, Ministe rial Records, tombstone inscriptions, and Town Clerk's records.
