Excerpt from God's Simple Truth on HolinessFirst, we will try to Show what we must do, and what God wants us to do in relation to sanctification, sin and holiness, and his will towards us, in these matters. 1 Thess. 4. This is the will of God, even your sancti fication, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should' know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor. Now if it be the will of God, then it is essential that we do His will. Ver. 7. For God hath not called us to uncleannes's, but unto holiness. Ver. 8. He, therefore, that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us His Holy Spirit. (read the 8th verse again thoughtfully.) Matt. Be ye perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. What, blessed Jesus, Master, do you tell us, and even command us to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect? How could you say such a thing, when you knew that in these last times, perilous times would come?
