In this book I view Europe as our common Home, which is supposed to bring prosperity to all of us, whether we live in West or in East. For centuries, our continent has been divided, scourged by wars and ripped by enmities of all kind. It is still battered by economic unevenness. Yet we ought to admit we do share common interests and goals. Eastern nations have long been lagging behind, now it is time they should learn to surmount sluggishness and score high economic performances. I tried to show that Central and Eastern Europe is perfectly able to catch up.
