Hermann Goertz, the creator of the famous astronomical art clock, is one of the most important precision watchmakers of all times. The cosmopolitan learnt the craft of watchmaking in Odessa, where he had his own watch shop. At the age of 56, he became the oldest student of the German Watchmaking School Glashütte.
