Excerpt from Michigan Reports, Vol. 75: Cases Decided in the Supreme Court of Michigan From June 7, 1889 to July 11, 1889 On the passage of the act, approved June 29, 1889, provid ing for additional clerical assistance, which was limited to one year, an estimate was made of the back work, so called, and it was ascertained that the unpublished Opinions filed prior to J ans 1, 1889, would fill nine volumes, and it was further estimated that the work of the June and October terms, 1889, and of the January and April terms, 1890, would make five volumes, which latter estimate is fully verified by the Opinions filed and to be filed prior to J aunary 1, 1890.
