Optimal Location and Sizing of UPFC To Improve power system stablity

Angebote / Angebote:

The heavily loaded transmission lines need to sustain the bus voltages at desired levels and also ensure the overall stability of the power system. For that reason, power systems need to be supervised in sequence to make use of the available transmission network effectively. HVDC & FACTS technologies may offer better solutions for such heavily loaded lines. FACTS devices released positive latest prospects for controlling the power flow and expanding the loadability of the existing transmission lines. Among the FACTS devices UPFC is one of the most promising FACTS devices. It can control the active and reactive power flow in the lines in addition to the nodal voltages. As per the characteristics of the UPFC, its scheduling implementations have some practical concern for finding the optimal location and sizing. In practice, the optimal location and size of UPFC tends not by randomly but by an algorithmic approach. In this book the problem of optimal location and sizing of UPFC in order to improve power system stability is discussed using hybrid heuristic algorithms like Hybrid ABC-GSA, Hybrid GSA-Bat, Hybrid Bat-FA and Hybrid FA-CS algorithms.
