Excerpt from Proceedings of the Ohio State Pharmaceutical Association: Twenty-Second Annual Meeting, Put-in-Bay, June 19, 20 and 21, 1900, Together With the Constitution, by-Laws, Pharmacy Law, Adulteration Law, Poison Law, Label Law and Morphine Law, Also List of Members Gentlemen, I do not know of a single instance in which ammonia water is ever sold over the counter for any other purpose except as a commercial or technical drug, and yet because this ammonia water contained some chlor ides aud sulphates, which made no difference for the purpose it is always sold, the defendant pleaded guilty and was fined the minimum costs, rather than be found guilty and pay the maximum fine of and 30 days in the workhouse. I merely cite this case to show you what has happened in our state, and, should you gentlemen think this subject of sufficient importance, I will bring forward other specific cases wherein the too strict enforcement of the law to the letter of the U.
