Excerpt from Public Education in North CarolinaTo meet the demands for larger consolidated schools the Legislature of 1921 authorized a special building fund of No loan could be made from this fund for erecting or repairing any school building containing less than five classrooms. So gratifying were the results obtained from the first five-million-dollar special building fund that the Legislature of 1923 authorized another bond issue of for the same purpose.The Legislature of 1925 authorized a third five million.
