Excerpt from Sigma Phi Epsilon Journal: Published Four Times a Year by the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity on October 20th, December 25th, March 1st and May 10th, Devoted to Fraternity and College Interests The response of college men to the call of our country has been most gratifying, and Sigma Phi Epsilon may well be proud of the showing it has made in this regard. When the record-is finally written members of Sigma Phi Epsilon will be numbered among those who really accomplished much for the good of our beloved country. Our prayers and best wishes go with those of our membership who are now serving under the Stars and Stripes. Their lives and work will be an inspiration to those of us who, by force of circumstances, are compelled to remain at home. The going of these brave men leaves us with much work to do. The ranks of active fraternity men have been delpeted all over the country, and it behooves every one of us to lend every aid possible to the active chapters. These are trying times and for some chapters they will be crucial ones. The reports of our several chapters which have come to my notice are most gratifying and we greatly appreciate the earnest work of those who are guiding the active chapters. It has well been said that "in unity there is strength" and it behooves every member of Sigma Phi Epsilon to assist the local officers so that the high standard of our fraternity may be maintained.
