In my estimation it is not sufficient for children to hear a symphony of Beethoven, a Mozart sonata, they should know it by heart, they should study it so that it is a part of their very artistic consciousness. Then they should be taken to concerts where such music is beautifully played in order to acquire a standard of the best possible presentation of the sonata and the symphony which they have learned to love.
