Excerpt from The Minor Bird, Vol. 1: Spring, 1929Tea pots are never alike. For one article as common and useful as the teapot, there are hundreds of designs and just as many personalities. The brew is subtly in¿uenced by the personality Of the pot. Aunt 'tica has a Silver pot, tall and Slender. It reminds me of an English garden party in Georgian times. When She poured me a cup Of tea from this lovely vessel, I sipped enchanted ¿uid. Its delicate Odor and soothing deliciousness made me long to be stately and gracious. We had a fat teapot at home. It was brown, the color Of well - baked beans, and just as substantial. It yielded a comfortable homey Sort Of brew, not too strong for children. Ella Blair had a lovely squarish teapot Of porcelain. I remember that on the great occasion of our annual luncheon with her, Buddy and I were amazed to see that she covered her teapot with an elaborate nightcap. It was a lovely pot and needed a cap to set it Off.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
