The Prohibition of Corruption Acts

Angebote / Angebote:

A human right against corruption is a necessity in human rights systems which aim to protect democratic principles, rule of law and rights of individuals. The "Prohibition of Corruption Acts. Envisaging the Emergence of a New International Human Rights Law Norm" was written in concerns to anti-corruption efforts in Europe, with emphasis on the Balkan region with its inherited rule of law insufficiencies. Similar to the prohibition of torture which gives rise to the human right not to be tortured, the present work calls for a human right against corruption, as a consequence of an envisaged prohibition of corruption acts norm in International Human Rights Law. This would allow individuals directly affected by corruption acts to claim remedies and compensation in a human rights court. Such individual cases may create incentives for civic involvement against corruption and may shed light on grander corruption schemes. This can amplify anti-corruption efforts and eventually help tackle systemic corruption problems via human rights systems.
