Here we may not distinguish between fraternities, but must find one rule applicable to all. We may not even go so far as to say that there are bad fraternities, for little blame can be placed on the organization itself for a weak chapter here and there. However, any one familiar with college life knows that there is a wide variance in the character of the chapters in every school, and some plan should be formulated by the fraternities, in co-operation' with the school authorities, to eliminate the evil in¿uences. The institution and all organiza tions should work in harmony for the improvement of both the school and local interests. A college is in no small way represented by its fraternities, and consequently it is very much to its interest to have such societies of as high a standard as possible.
