I was less than eight when I started reading the Cinderella stories. I imagined myself being swept off my feet and transported into the secure arms of my prince charming...
I was only eighteen when I read Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot." Confused and lonely, I found my refuge in his absurd protrayal of existence.
Year after year... story after story... I have come to realize that, at least in my world, women are still idolizing the concept of a prince charming. Absurdly, they have turned the man into the long awaited "Godot."
Well I, for one, stopped idolizing...
I, for one, stopped waiting...
I, for one, say... TO HELL WITH GODOT...
And there are so many others...
This play pays homage to all the strong women who stand for what they believe in... and to all the men who believe and stand by their strong women...
