Angebote / Angebote:

Excerpt from Tobacco Situation: September 30, 1965The Federal excise tax (amounting to 10 cents per pound) on smoking tobacco, chewing tobacco, and snuff has been repealed effective January 1, 1966.U. S. Exports of unmanufactured tobacco in 1965 may be around 500 million pounds (570 million farm - sales weight) - about 2 percent below l96h. For the year ending June 30, 1966, U. S. Tobacco exports may be moderately larger than in l96h - 65. Exports of flue - cured, which accounts for about four-fifths of the total, are expected to increase significantly over a year earlier when they were third smallest in 10 years. The quality of the U. S. Flue-cured crop is notably better this year than last. Also, Rhodesian production this year was down from the extremely high level in 196h. World cigarette consumption continues to rise and economic activity abroad is comparatively high. On the other hand, prices of U. S. Flue-cured this season have risen and foreign competition is strong. Also, importing countries maintain trade restrictions, high import duties, and preferential tariff and other trade arrangements that hamper U. S. Exports.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.comThis book is a reproduction of an important historical work.
