The general scope of the following publication has been already intimated in the Preface to a former collection of posthumous Tracts by the same illustrious author. It carries forward the series of Mr. Burke's opinions relative to cur domestick parties from the "Appeal to the old Whigs" in 1791, which is contained in the quarto edition, of his works, to the Letter which he published in 1796, on occasion of the attack made upon him by the Duke of Bedford. The principal piece, indeed, (in magnitude certainly, though perhaps not in temporary interest, the principal) is not altogether new.
