Excerpt from Water Supply Outlook for Washington and Federal-State-Private Cooperative Snow Surveys: As of Mar. 1, 1969The water supply-outlook_for irrigation and power has improved in 'most respects over that which was reported last month. The snow cover in all areas now varies from.a low of 1268 of average to a high of 2131. While both of these figures are based only on one snow course in each of the respective watersheds other watersheds using many snow courses in their determination indicate a similar percentage range. As 'was reported last month the snow cover at the lower elevations still accounts for the high percentage fig= ures reported in our Comparison of Snow Cover. Some of the low elevation courses have as such as 20 inches of water on the ground this month and were here last year at this time. The situation in the tributary areas has both improved and deteriorated. To the north in British Columbia, the northern parts of the water= shed have normal snoacks. As you proceed to the south the snow= packs increase, percentagewise, with the higher percentages being in the southeast portion of the Province.
