It's a cracking good adventure story for children aged ten years and upwards. It's only sixty pages long, but powerful stuff. For adults it's also good reading and has a message that sticks in one's memory long after it has been put back on the shelf. But make sure it is at hand as events will happen in some part of the world that will strike a chord of something that Peter Minshall has alluded to in his short treatise that can be summed up in the phrase 'blessed are the peace makers'. He does not advocate pacifism but rather world harmony led by its children. Indeed, the hero of this seminal novel is a young, wounded soldier, a Scot and an Argyll man. Equally he could be described as an urgently needed universal power for good." The book is a belief in the future seen through the eyes of children, written for all ages and all nations, never has a book been more relevant.
